...and others seemingly frustrated, disappointed, or lost much of the time.

Pillars are as equal in size at the top as they are at the base. They allow room for everyone to ascend to the top with no limit.

.
Pyramids

Pyramids come to a point at the top with room there only for one. There are more requirements that must be met, including external factors we cannot control.

Foreword
I have enjoyed a 37-year career at Kettering University, and estimate that more than 14,000 students have come through Kettering in that time. Each student was an individual, seeking to learn and grow as an engineer, a colleague, and in many cases a leader. Over the years my numerous leadership roles included Vice President of Enrollment and Corporate Relations, one of the most rewarding roles and one providing a unique position to see young people coming into the program ready for guidance, as well as to view how corporations benefit from strong teams and individuals. My role as Director of Alumni Engagement allowed me to see how graduates of a strong program like Kettering grow and benefit from continued inputs and advice from accomplished leaders, such as you will find in Pillars, Pyramids & Grids.
Mark Rimkus has always been eager to share his wisdom, knowledge and vast experiences, so I am not surprised he decided to write this book. Pillars, Pyramids & Grids has been written to help us as readers to appreciate and enjoy our work, find our own balance and help others along the way. Through this book Mark is offering to be each reader’s own personal career counselor and life coach. I am proud to have met him as a student, and today to recognize the value of the concepts he shares in Pillars, Pyramids & Grids.
